North East Truck & Van have a rich history in the commercial vehicle sector and 2019 sees our 50th year in operation.
1969 In 1969 we opened the doors to our first workshop in the heart of Teesside by founders Bill Beadnell, Brian Sharp & Ron Fullelove.
1987 By 1987 current Chairman and Managing Director Sandy McDonald joined the ranks as Finance Controller providing the secure financial foundations for the future growth.
1990 In 1990 we were proudly crowned Motor Transport Dealer of the Year Award. The same year we gained BSI9001 Accreditation, becoming one of the first in the industry to scoop the accolade.
1993 1993 saw a transfer to Iveco following the collapse of Leyland DAF.
1996 We opened the doors to our Immingham workshop in 1996.
1998 Shortly after, in 1998, we welcomed customers into our Carlisle dealership. Sandy McDonalds progress through the company saw him appointed as the Managing Director of North East Truck & Van.
2003 Further expansion in 2003 with workshops in Hull and York launched before Lincoln’s opening in 2005.
2005 15 years after our first title, North East Truck & Van pick up another Motor Transport Dealer of the Year Award in 2005.
2006 In 2006, we expanded our key relationships in the Commercial Vehicle sector with the acquisition of FIAT Professional.
2007 2007 saw further partnerships with MAN and Hino coming on board.
2012 April 2012 saw us gain another key member of the North East Truck & Van team as Ian Hopkins, our Commercial Director began his journey here.
2014 2014 saw the arrival of John McDonald.
2016 2016 saw us team up with LDV to further expand our manufacturer partnerships.
2016 2016 John McDonald was promoted to Operations Director.
2018 2018 John McDonald becomes our key man in all financial matters as Finance Director.
